iTea QualiTech Procedures for Producers and Buyers

Applicable ONLY to subscribed Producers

a. Login into iTea QualiTech Buyer Module steps

a)       Log in to market.itea.co.ke using username and password

b. Draw Standard Sample and Dispatch

  1. Draw a 200 grams representative standard sample
  2. Pack the sample in proper packaging material that meets the following specifications
    • Protects the tea leaves (shape, color, smell and taste) from damage, moisture and deterioration
    • Convenient to carry, easy to keep, easy to count and check
    • Moisture proof
    • Antioxidant qualities that does not lead to the oxidative deterioration of the ingredients in the tea leaves
    • Gas choke to protect the aroma of tea leaves
  3. Handle with care during transportation to avoid content damage through bearing external weights or poking of holes
  4. Dispatch the Sample to the iTea Lab to be received within the shortest time possible

c. Samples Package Labeling

  1. Ensure that the following details of the sample are included in the packaging material:
    • Your secret code unique to each individual sample
    • Date of Dispatch

d. Standard Sample Analysis at iTea Labs

  1. All Samples are analysed for
    • Manufacture Grade Determination
    • Quality Parameters Determination for Each Manufacture Grade
    • Matching of Each Manufacture Grade to corresponding teas on offer of similar or close quality parameters
  2. The results are uploaded onto the system within 96 hours after samples receipt at iTea Lab and a notification sent to the Buyer for their access and downloading
  3. View the quality parameters information of each sample analyzed
  4. The results so shared are to be used for matching with teas on offer of equal or near quality parameters
